Thanksgiving from Dream Dinners

Thanksgiving is next week (it is as early as it could possibly be this year!) and those of us hosting for our families had better be planning out dinner.  I just found out that I am going to have around 35 people at my house and as I was breathing into the bag to avoid hyperventilating, I realized that Dream Dinners is there to help.  Not only is the turkey available but they have all the trimmings as well.  Also, the Thanksgiving dishes are Fast Lane, meaning there is no assembly fee if I don't have the time to make it to a session!

I might have time to finish cleaning and preparing AND get to play with the kids after all!
Click here to place your order.

Fast Lane It’s our spectacular, simple-to-prepare, juicy turkey! Equivalent to a 16 pound bone-in turkey, this delicious boneless turkey is simple to carve, makes a great holiday presentation and is not readily available in stores.

Fast Lane Save time and money by preparing all your holiday side dishes at Dream Dinners! Your family will think you've spent days in the kitchen.  Eight different side dishes are available.   You can purchase additional family favorite sides during your session.

How Long Will my Dream Dinners Last Once Defrosted?

We recommend that you take 3 dinners every week from your freezer and place them to thaw in your refrigerator. Depending on where you place them in your refrigerator and what temperature you hold at (recommend 38 – 40 degrees), and what the dinner is, it can take several days ( 2 – 5 ) to completely thaw your Dream Dinners.

Once your dinner is completely thawed, be sure to cook your dinner within these timeframes:
- Steaks/beef, three to five days
- Poultry/Pork, one to two days
- Seafood, one to two days

Chocolate Jam Bars

I enjoy making these bars because they call for so few ingredients and they taste delicious!  You can even change the flavor with your choice of jam.  They are always a hit.

1 1/2 c oats (quick-cooking or old fashioned)
1 1/2 c flour
1/2 c white sugar
1/2 c brown sugar, packed down
1/4 tsp salt
1 c butter (cold)
3/4 c seedless raspberry jam - (I find the berry ones stand up best to the oats and chocolate though I did use apricot one time and it was lovely)
1 1/2 c chocolate chips (I use less or more according to how much chocolate I want)
1/4 c chopped walnuts (optional)

In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, sugars and salt.  Cut in butter until mixture resembles course crumbs.  Set aside 1 cup for topping, press remaining crumb mixture into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.  Spread with jam; sprinkle with chocolate chunks.

Combine the walnuts (if using) and reserved crumb mixture; sprinkle over the top.  Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.  Cool on a wire rack.  Cut into squares.

Tip: To get the bars out of the pan easily, I will cover the bottom with parchment paper.
